Daiwa House has an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to join the
development/construction management team in Reston, Virginia as a Development Coordinator. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, self:motivated, and detail:oriented. He or she will have strong ability to communicate with a wide variety of people from different groups. You will need to be able to multitask, problem:solve, and prioritize workloads.
Position Responsibilities:
:Assist managers in various real estate development projects using outside consultants and supporting development staff
:Ability to draft a risk evaluation sheet for real estate investment projects in terms of the technical and commercial point of view
:Perform a quantitative analysis for the construction budget and schedule of a project
:Able to attend monthly construction meetings in the U.S. region for specific real estate investment projects and report back to the manager about the current status, any concerns, and countermeasures
:Research each states regulations about design and construction permits
:Update the Japanese and U.S. based suppliers information and interview / visit them in terms of the strength and weakness
:Communicate with Daiwa House team members in Japan as well as in U.S.
Skills and Experience:
:5 years of experience in the U.S. construction industry as an employee of a general contractor or construction manager
:Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
:Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat
Preferred, but not required:
:Experience in purchasing or procurement
:Experience or knowledge in risk management
:Microsoft Project, or other scheduling software
:Knowledge of real estate
:An understanding of and familiarity with the planning and engineering approval process
:Understanding of budgeting and cash flows
:Experience in the analysis, acquisition, entitlement, development, and marketing of residential land
:Familiar with getting around a construction site
:Experience in reading and understanding architectural and engineering drawings
